2 Wheels Maybe

A lot going but not a lot of posts lately, so I figured a little update and let you know what you might see in the future. I rebuilt my first wheel. This one needed a new hub, so I replaced the old one with a disc-compatible hub. After watching three youtube vids, I spent about 90 minutes lacing it up. The next day I spent an hour straightening, truing, and tightening it. It may sound weird, but it was one of the most satisfying and calming projects I've tackled in quite a while. I can't wait to tackle my next one. (Spoiler alert, it will either be a rear hub motor or a front drum brake into a 26" rim. Stay tuned!) Farewell, Old 9917 The black Worksman klunker unexpectedly found a new home. (Remember - lock up your bike - even at your local coffeehouse. I hope it went to someone who needed it.) [Following up on this recent post ] On my daily romp through the local Craigslist today I spotted just the thing needed for any of you who've been itching to build an e-Cub - a donor bike, and it's right here in Lubbock. Really, there are a jillion of these out there, but you don't even have to go hunting for this one.  Finding cool stuff for sale - I think it's self punishment for something. I've been doing well clearing out the garage this year. Two cars have left.  No cars, motorcycles, or scooters have been purchased. I've even been clearing out the backyard shed. So, why do I keep going back to Craigslist? We'll just say it's blog research. Yeah...that's it! While "blog researching" this week, the vintage electro-dork in me heard a siren song coming from the Dallas area. It may not be impressive in stature, but this is a real-deal, Made-in-America, street-legal, electric motorcycle from 1973. Four decades before you could buy a Zero, you could buy this California cruiser and ride gas-free.    $400 or best offer - you seldom see them this cheap or complete! [2 Wheels Maybe is actually an offshoot from my other blog - Mesquite Hugger . You may notice that a lot of ideas and posts stem from there. This is definitely one of those.] I subscribe to lots of vendor emails. It's a great way to keep up with what's happening in the green vehicle world. Most of those emails show up in English, but not always. This week, one rolled in from Germany -  and it was a little hard to read. But the pictures helped me get the gist.
